Below is a list of Community and Public Radio Stations in Arizona

Community Radio differs from NPR/PRI public radio stations in its programming.  In addition to being commercial free a majority of Community Radio stations use volunteers for music, arts and news programming and that volunteer component makes a very distinct and diverse programming voice.  Community Radio stations can be found in large and small cities and Native American Tribal communities in Arizona. 

NPR/PRI Public Radio stations have local and national news and arts programming.  Commercial-free, NPR radio stations have in-depth news such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered and arts programming including PRI's A Prairie Home Companion. 

Community Radio Stations

Radio Phoenix      The listener-supported, non-commercial radio service of Arizona Community Media Foundation (AzCMF).  Radio Phoenix exists to enrich the lives of central Arizonans through educational, insightful, and stimulating programming that reflects the unique character of the Valley of the Sun while connecting us with our neighbors in the larger global community. Currently available exclusively online at www.radiophoenix.org.  In progess with the FCC for radio license.  Member of the National Federation of Community Broadcasters (NFCB)

Tucson KXCI 91.3 FM     Listener supported, volunteer, community radio station, nonprofit, noncommercial, Pacifica affiliate. ecletic mix of music and diverse specialty programs.  NFCB affiliate.    http://www.kxci.org/

Bisbee  KPBR 96.1 FM (low power)      Bisbee Radio Project.  KPBR is a non-profit, non-commercial radio station, volunteer radio station.  Serving the many voices of Bisbee.  Member of the NFCB.  http://www.kbrbradio.com/

Tuba City  KGHR 91.3 FM      Non-commercial, non-profit radio station serving Western Navajo, The Grand Canyon and part of Northern Arizona.  Programming includes local news and information, music and news from National Native News Service and National Public Radio.  Member of the NFCB.  http://kghr.org/

Whiteriver  KNNB 91.3 FM     Public radio station in Whiteriver, Arizona. It primarily features local programming for the Apache Native American community, plus networked programming from National Public Radio and Native Voice One.

KOHN 91.9 FM     A community radio station owned by and serving the Tohono, O'odham Nation. 

KPYT 100.3 FM (low power)     Non-profit, commercial free radio serving the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.

NPR/PRI Public Radio Stations

KNAU/Arizona Public Radio serves a coverage area that ranges from Kingman on the west to Ganado on the east; Grand Canyon Village and Page on the north to the fringes of the Phoenix metro area on the south.
