Election 2010 Voting Information - Share Widely

Election 2010 Voting Information - Share Widely

Today, November 2nd, is Election Day! Make sure to get out and vote. Voting is pretty simple, but if you have any questions, here's an outline of helpful information. Please share this information widely--forward this email, and post it on Facebook and Twitter.

(Reading this on your mobile phone? You can get voting info here: m.google.com/elections)

On your ballot

  • Also, the League of Young Voters has put together a site where groups and individuals can post do-it-yourself voter guides. Check out your state here: http://theballot.org/

Where and when do I vote?

  • You can also get your polling location by texting "where" to 30644 from your mobile phone.
  • These resources are excellent, but not perfect, so to double-check information, you can use the Voting Information Project application to find contact information for your state or local election official.

What do I need to bring?

  • Voting ID laws vary from state to state, but if you have ID, bring it. To find out the details, check out your state's info at http://www.866ourvote.org/state.

What if something goes wrong?

  • Not on the voter list? Make sure you're at the right polling place, then ask for a provisional ballot.

How can I help get out the vote today?

And a quote to remind us all how important it is to vote today...

"Because if everyone who fought for change in 2008 shows up to vote in 2010, we will win this election, I'm confident that we will." --President Barack Obama

Drop Everything.

By Jeff Zetino, Deputy Field Director
Promise Arizona

This is it.

I don't want any of us waking up on November 3 and wishing we had done more for our community.

Can you drop whatever you're doing and sign up to volunteer today and tomorrow to get out the vote in your neighborhood?

Click here to sign up for one or more of the following shifts.

        * Monday Nov 1st: 3:30pm - 8:00pm
        * Tuesday Nov 2nd ALL DAY
        * Tuesday Nov 2nd 9:00-12:00pm
        * Tuesday Nov 2nd 12:30pm - 4:00pm
        * Tuesday Nov 2nd 3:30pm - 7:00pm

It's not every day that I send an email to hundreds of folks I don't know, asking you to spend your Monday and Tuesday working on getting people out to vote. I know most of us are working or going to school part of the day, and in the little time we have left, we have things we need to do or better yet, rest.

BREAKING: Anti-Latino groups are preparing to harass voters at the polls

Volunteers needed to protect the vote in AZ!

By Linda Brown
Arizona Advocacy Network

This week Sheriff Joe Arpaio sent an alarming email to 800,000 of his loyal supporters asking them to help "STOP ILLEGALS FROM STEALING THE ELECTION!" by joining his "grassroots army of VOTER FRAUD PREVENTION VOLUNTEERS."

Now we are asking for your help to PREVENT VIGILANTES FROM INTIMIDATING VOTERS.  AzAN needs YOU to volunteer for One Arizona's Election Protection effort and help ensure that no voter is turned away at the polls on Tuesday.

To volunteer, send an email to volunteer@azadvocacy.org or call our office at 602-297-2500.  We need people to sign up for two and 1/2 hour shifts in the morning (6am to 8:30am) and evenings (4:30pm to 7pm).  We are offering trainings throughout the weekend and on Monday.

Stay Informed!
